I justed asked someone this same question. I currently have a small coral beauty and would really like a juvi emperor at some point. I was told that if the coral beauty was in the tank for some time that it was likely to try and fight with a juv. emperor but if the emperor was larger it should be okay. He also said that if the emperor was a juv. you could partition off part of the tank for a few days/week and they were less likely to fight when finally introduced to each other. Obviously, they need to be able to see each other through the partition. I would hope to have a back up plan though in case they didn't get along. If you get a small emperor let us know how it works out. I really would like a juvi because I want to see it go through the color changes.

No, not for my 40, maybe for a 75 or 90, Not sure yet.
It will be a while before I do it, I am enjoying the 40 gallon and coming up over just one month so everything is settling down now :)

If your planning an upgrade and want angels ,you'll need at least a 6 foot long tank IMO.A dwarf will be fine in a 75,but not an emp,or any large angel.

So...Yes, they will get along, or no :) Just curious, I mean, thank you all for advice on size, but the question was are they compatible?

Tank size has alot to do with campatability of the fish we keep.Cramped tanks leads to aggression. So an emp in a 75,or 90 is going to get cranky,IMO

SWF.com says no, only one angel per tank.
Those with really big tanks like 225 and larger have kept more than 1, however I was advised not to do so in my 90g.

Can you put a Flame Angel or a Coral Beauty Angel (Dwarf) with an Emperor Angel???
Its funnly because this is exactly what i have. I had the Coral beauty for about three weeks now and i recently got the juvenile emperor about 3-4days ago. They're both about 3-4inches. Initially my coral beauty would show slight signs of dominance 2wards the emp, but nothing too aggressive, now they seem to be cool. I see them very close and swimming around with each other frequently. They're both in a 125g with a small 3inch Stellatus puffer.

Well looks like you get to be our guinea pig…
As a rule young fish don’t fight, they get ornery as they mature. Still 125g is allot more space than a 65g.

Dwarf & large Angels living together, multiple large Angels, etc. (in large tanks) are really quite common. IMO, the warning from SWF is simply because so many folks have no idea what they're in for and a tank that is way too small. A large tank and timing of introducing the fish are critical, IMO & IME. A tank with several Angels can take a very long time to establish.
