My dwarf seahorses from seahorsesource.com have their first batch of babies this morning.
I got 2 females, 1 male on August 4, 2009. They are in a 5 gallon pico tank, maintained at 68-72 degrees, pH 8.0-8.2, lots of macroalgae and several pieces of live rock ported over from my reef system.
Here's the pico:

Here's the setup tank with the dwarfs:

I'm trying to get a count, but they are moving all over the tank (chasing food already) and I don't know if I'm double counting some.
Please excuse the dirty glass.......hadn't cleaned it yet this morning after feeding them.

Actually, I bought it from a fellow reefer who made it himself. He had a maxijet900 as the pump in it, but I replaced it with a little fountain pump (a walmart desktop fountain) because the flow was just too strong for them.

They are sooo cute.....good luck with them
Thank you. The nice thing with the dwarfs is that they can be raised with the parents. Just keep the tank filled with newly hatched baby brine shrimp and they do fine. I feed 3 times a day.

Yes, all doing wonderfully. I have 2 who take off swimming around the tank while the pump is off. They spend about 30 minutes just roaming around the tank like they own the place.
Everybody is eating well and growing. The adults are wondering where all the food is coming from and look at me with stuffed bellies like "enough!"

SOO cute,, wish i had some space for little ones like that...
Of course you have the space. I got a 3 gallon pico. It's sitting on a tv tray. You could put on end table, coffee table, countertop, dresser. You know you have the space somewhere.

They are too cute to pass up.
