Will dwarf seahorses only have one baby? Theres one microscopic baby in the tank. It doesn't look fully developed though :( I looked all around the filter and theres no others though so it just seems he had one. Is this possible? Also whats the possibility it came out underdeveloped? It appears to have no tail. (Or is it just to small for my eyes to make out at this point? You can barley tell the head from the body its so tiny.

I don't know a lot about dwarfs, but I think it's completely normal for them to only have 1 baby. I know seahorses can sometimes deliver too early too, maybe the stress of shipping? I'm sorry he doesn't look alive. I bet you will have new babies soon enough

SH eggs are bright orange. it looks like he simply expelled the eggs early, possibly due to stress. additionally, SH that haven't had a lot of broods can also have "preemies", miss the egg transfer altogether, etc.
if you have nothing to eat the eggs remove them.

Maybe they/it was eggs. I found a cluster of eggs in the filter this am while searching the tank. I figured it was from the other pair of seahorses that had been chasing each other around the last few days. Thats sad I stressed him out :( but then better than his babies dying. It's a good learning experience regardless and next time now I'll know. Thanks for the help!

Here's him today. I think his pouch looks smaller than before so I'd say hes not pregnant. What an amazing animal!
