dwarf fuzzy

I have a dwarf fuzzy and have hid him for about a week and half. I never see him. I fed him several feeder guppies and he ate them fine. I have brighter lighting (not mh but t-5's) for coral I will be adding later on.
My question is: will I ever see him beside inbetween rocks?

It may take some time for him to settle in. You will need to start feeding the fish correctly though. Guppies are NOT recommended to feed to sw fish. Try getting some freeze dried krill, frozen silversides, and a variety of raw sea food. You need to feed the lion 2-3 times a week and ONLY until the belly starts to buldge. Barry

I agree. My plan was to get him eating first in the aquarium. Then try to get him eating krill.
I agree totally!
My question though is will it come out of hiding during the day? I know there are fish that are nocturnal but so far I haven't seen him move around much at all.

Like Barry mentioned, you will just have to be patient with them. They are a nocturnal predator, so it will indeed take some time to get used to a day feeding schedule. The best thing you can do is make sure you have some caves in the tank for him to hang in and out of the light.
Also, as stated, guppies are not good for him. I would strongly recommend you pick up some live ghost shrimp, gut load the shrimp by feeding the shrimp nutritious foods, and then feed the lion.

If you have any more questions, please don't hestitate to ask. I have two fuzzies myself, and they are my absolute favorite lion, by far. They are also the lion which I have found to be the most friendly and personable too.

I picked the fuzzy because it's a lion, but also because it's smaller.
I have 2 percs, coral beauty, sfe, and sailfin tang, will they be ok together?
I also hope ( ) to add some coral in later. I have tek t-5 lighting, will this be too bright for the lion. I understand that they like caves and ledges to hide under.
The sfe eats right off the feeding stick already, I assume that with patience and dilligence I can get the dwarf to do the same.

As long as the tank is big enough (100 gallons +), most of those fish sound okay to be in a reef tank. The only one you may have problems with is the angel. Plus, you will not be able to keep shrimp due to the lion and eel.
What is the wattage of the T-5 lighting, and what are the dimensions of the tank?

I have 4 x 65 watt p.c. (48") that I brought over from my 55g when I switched. Then I added 3 x 80watt 60". My tank is 110g, 72" x 18" x 18"

That lighting is not bad. It is not enough for SPS corals and some of your more difficult LPS corals, but you can keep plenty of beautiful corals in that tank. What did you have in mind or like?

I was just looking for some basic ones: mushrooms, zenia, solt, would like a lobed brain (lobophylia?). Also would like to try and do a carpet down the road.

Everything you just mentioned should be fine, with the exception of the anemone, especially carpets. They need highly intense halide lighting.

i think the only time my fuzzy lion comes out in the day is when he gets hungry... if you want to see him, wait until all the lights go off for awhile and use a flash light, mine is always moving around at night...

To be honest then why would you want a fish that you never see?

That was the whole reason for me posting this. If mine is going to stay in the rocks it's entire life and I never see it except when I'm camped out at midnight I would rather return it to the lfs and get a different fish.
:help:

Fuzzy dwarf lions are an incredible fish. You will not be unhappy with him. My two come out to the front of the tank and do their little dance every single time I come to check out my tank. Trust me, they are incredibly personable and all-around great fish.
I have never seen a fuzzy dwarf act the way taznut described.
