Dwarf lion compatability

Hey all, I was about to add another chunk of live rock, and I've got a lionfish that has caught my eye. It's a 37 gallon tank, bowfront/corner. Looking at a dwarf lion, currently about an inch at the most.
My current stock consists of a blue hawaiian spotted puffer (probably about 2-3"), two Engineer gobies (about 6-7"), a firefish goby (about 4"), and a blue yellowtail damsel that refuses to die, but doesn't harass anyone enough for me to worry about him (about 1"). I've got a chocolate chip star, a green brittle star, a black brittle/serpent star, and a fighting conch (about 5-6"). And a cleanup crew of snails and hermit crabs that tends to pretty much come and go when the puffer decides to munch on them.
The engineers will be moved out shortly as they're getting too big for the tank, I've got a 75g I can move them to. The firefish goby really doesn't look like he's doing well, he's been there for about a year and gets picked on constantly. I'd rather not lose anyone obviously, but I can move him to the 75g too if needed. The damsel has sentimental value since it's the first fish I ever bought for the tank... but he gets pissy with the puffer so again, he can be moved. My main concern is the puffer. I've hand fed him ever since I bought him, he comes up to the top of the tank and eats out of my fingers now, and is a very friendly/personable fish. I don't want to risk him getting eaten/killed. I know puffers are semiaggressive and are nippers; is this something I should be concerned with? I don't need him nipping a poisonous fin or anything. The lion is something I've wanted for awhile but not if it means it'll kill the puffer, which I've had for some time now!

the puffer would kill the lion. unless u have another tank u can move the lion or puffer 2 then i would say no u cant have both. people have had lions and puffers get along for months at a time and then come home to find there puffer killed their lion.

Really? I'd think that the puffer would try, and the lion would sting it. Mine doesn't appear to be much of a nipper (don't see any pieces of tail missing, and my firefish still has his top fin), so I figure maybe he's a bit less aggressive than normal.
Any other opinions here, similar or not?

the puffer has its beak tho that it could flip the lion over and peck at its underside. I wouldnt take the wrisk
