My dwarf lion (zebra) was swimming around this morn. normal as can be, got home this afternoon and it's tail is gone! I know it uses it alot so this is a big concern to me. It's in with a large coral banded shrimp, med. blue tang, 2 clowns, 1 goby and a bi-colored dotty back. The tang just came down with ich. (overfeeding) Any ideas. Thanks all

Everything but the goby is a suspect, but if I had to lay odds, it would be the clownfish.

My bi colored dotty back tore the heck out of my fuzzy's fins. I had to remove the dotty back.

Yeah, it's the only one I ever see bite at anything. Any ideas on how to catch it? Tank is full of rock and corals. Thanks guys, Wendy

A fish trap comes to mind, unless you're good with a net and can catch it unawares.

Wendy, since nobody said anything about it...
Overfeeding does not cause ich...it's a nasty parasite, and the only way to get rid of it, is to remove all of your fish, and let the tank go without any fish at all for 8 weeks. To do that means you need a hospital tank large enough for your fish where you can treat them. You can't treat the display because the copper medicines or hypo will kill the tiny critters in the live rock and sand as well as all the larger inverts.
The "reef safe" medicines do not work.

Thanks, yes I know overfeeding wouldn't do it but stress lowesr ammune system and then they're more susceptible. Did 3 water changes in 1 week, Cut WAY back on food and bugs (if it was ich, looked bigger) are gone. These instructions from my supplier. Sooo thankful. Thanks to you too! Wendy

There is no "unaware" with this fish, it does seem a bit evil, watches me watch it from across the room! How does the fish trap work, Thanks Saxman, Wendy
