I have one on order and should be getting it on Monday. The supplier that my LFS uses feeds them frozen foods so when they go to their new home they are use to the frozen stuff. I am quite excited about getting one, never knew that the dwarf kind were out there. It is so nice to see this.
What do you feed yours and what are your experiences with them so far?

I had 1 of them for about month and the other i got last monday. Im trying to get them on frozen but its too hard. They are so stubborn..
You are very lucky that your dwarf will be eating frozen and i would die to get mine to eat them lol. Im just starting out these guys and so far they are doing great. Im feeding them ghost shrimp and saltwater feeder shrimp(no guppies whatsover).
Take care!

I have read that if you starve them for a couple of days and use a feeder stick with the frozen foods on it they will take to it. Worth a try.

A dwarf can eat a clownfish, I've seen it happen. Whatever they can fit in their mouths would not make a good tankmate.

well is there any type of scorpion fish that can live with them? i like them but then i might have to change my clowns...

My lion has a clown tank mate, and he doesn't pay any attention to him. The best way to get them on frozen, is spear some food with a chopstick, and kind of move it around in front of them. Has worked for all my lions. You can put scorpion fish with a lion, they are basically the same thing. Same family anyway.

Generally speaking, scorps from genus Scorpaenodes tend to be smaller, and may do OK with the clowns (depending on the size of the clown), as will the waspfish family. Leaf scorps would be fine, but know that they don't keep their coloration well in captivity (esp. the red morphs) and that you will likely have to feed them live ghost shrimp for life, as they are tuff to wean. They do, however, train to taking food from a net pretty easily.

Bottom line, as everyone is saying...if the fish can fit into the scorp's mouth, it's pretty much a matter of time before it's on the menu.

would a fully (pretty much) grown maybe 3 inched clown fish fit in a leafishes mouth?im not sure how huge their mouth is but they grow about 4 inches... so? I would really like a leaf fish or a small scorp in my tank is why i am asking

There are a few scorp-keepers around, but we're definitely in the minority (lions being more popular).

Frank Marini (FMarini here on SWF) has written a newly-published book that is a "must-have" for lion/scorp keepers: Lionfishes and Other Scorpionfishes

He has also written an excellent article on lionfish care...google Frank Marini Lionfish and you will find it.

There's a good section on lions and scorps in Scott Michael's "old standby" Reef Fishes Vol I
(a super book to have on your shelf)

Lastly, there's an article on keeping scorps here: http://www.lionfishlair.com/careguides/careguidescorpionfish.shtml
