Even though I know I'm a fish nut...any one who didn't know in my family knows it now. I just came back from a 1000 mile( round trip) long Road trip From the Twin cities to Indianapolis to pick up Luke's dwarf seahorses. Between planning a wedding, building a house, and helping finalize the upgrades for his work he didn't want to neglect the ponies. It didn't take much to get me to agree to take them
The trip was awesome!
Luke and Leia took me over to see their new house. I got the dime tour~the floor layout is awesome. The kitchen set up I really liked. Very open and functional. The view from the house is cool too. There's a lake in the middle, and their master bedroom looks right out onto the lake. The upstairs bonus room is really cool too. Luke has big plans for that, it has game room written all over it.
After we saw the house they took me over to Luke's store. It was a good thing that I had to drive back the next morning....other wise I would have taken the time to add some choice items from his store.
When we got back to their apartment I spent the next hour asking questions about the ponies, and trying not to drool while looking at Luke's reef tank.
After packing up the ponies and a quick breakfast I was back on the road by 9 am.
Next stop Lisa's
We had lots of fun going over the goodies that Luke gave to us. Apache and Navajo are healthy, happy, beautiful, and spoiled rotten
Between tours of the tanks and taking pictures of the ponies; I had fun cuddling Jonah and chatting with Lisa, Beth, and Taylor over a very tasty dinner of chicken dumplings.
With four hours of driving left, I finally headed out the door around 8:30 pm.
I finally arrived home at 1 am. I unpacked enough things to get the ponies back into a tank with a bubbler and collapsed in bed at 3 am.
Next time I am definitely going to bring Brian and Aria and spend more quality time with both families.
Today I set up my 15 gallon high in the living room for the ponies. I used some LS and filter floss from my 90 that were filled with all sorts of healthy pods to help with the set up. I managed to scoop up mom, dad, and the 2 babies with out using a microscope and deposit them gently into their new home.
They seem to be very comfy. The kids hung out with mom while dad did a thorough exploration of their new surroundings. After he returned I fed them and they all started swimming about snicking up baby brine. The little red baby is very precosious...the tiny titan struck out by itself and began exploring. The little yellow baby is very timid compared to it's sibling. It hung out with mom until mom went hunting, and then it proceeded to hide itself in the algae.
Last time I checked every one had hitched up for bed.
They're so cute. I have never seen such detailed, delicate little creatures. The adults are hardly an inch long and the babies are so tiny, hardly a centimeter long. Tiny mirror images of their parents.
I had an awesome weekend. Thank you Luke for entrusting the care of your ponies to me.
