Dwarf Seahorses anyone?

Does anyone here have dwarf seahorses?
I've got a 5 gallon AGA that soon will be empty as I start my 56 gallon tank up. I'm going to strip it down and bleach it to make sure 1000% i have no hydroids or other baddies.
I know the commitment they are as far as feeding
but my wife is looking forward to having them. I was going to get some dead base rock and some different macro algae and probably a dead sea fan (macro and fan for hitching) and I'm planning on a sponge filter on the HOB filter's intake.
Is there anything else I should concern myself with greatly? Also, I'm pretty sure I can put a few snails in for CUC, has anyone put any hermits (like the little blue legs) in with dwarf sea horses?
Thanks in advance :)

Hi and welcome.
There are few here that keep dwarfs. Reefnut and (Divegirl I beleive) maybe a few more.
No hermits. I am sure most dont use anything live because of hydroids. They can come in on even micros. Though I think they can be treated with panacur.
Are you buying captive bred dwarfs. There are a few places I know of that carry them.
Good Luck

Sorry, I haven't been on a while. I have dwarfs for about a year. I think the red hermits are supposed to be safe, but I don't really like hermit crabs all that much and since dwarfs are so small (and the fry even smaller) I wouldn't recommend any crab in with them. I've seen crabs go after and kill other crabs, dwarfs really have no defense other than camouflage.
