Alot of people have their opinions but I have succesfully had a kole tang and yellow tang in a 30 gallon. This was years ago before I knew what I know now. I gave the tank to a friend when I moved. He still has the tangs!!! He's had them for 3 years!!! I dont see a problem with 1 tang in your tank. I've succesfully done it.

100% bad advice. this is not an opinion it is a fact. for a name like luvtangs you sure are not showing them any love with the above statements
it may live in thats tank but in a very short amount of time it will be far to big. let take all moral reason out of it and the simple fact that a full size tang would look rather silly in a 30 gallon tank to say the least.

Ok thanks for YOUR advice, but the biggest my tang ever was, was MAYBE 3 1/2 inches. He's 4 years old now and is doing VERY well.

Well, go with what you know already, you do not have "adaquate" room for a tang, but which colors do you like and we can give you a slew of alternatives!!
When you ask for a tang, is it the shape you like, the fact that they graze or a particular color?

It truly bums me out how people jump down other's throats on this board. Especially about tangs. I was just stating that I was VERY succesful with tangs. I didn't know years ago when I first started that they prefer more swimming room. Tangs are beautiful fish and very popular obviously. I really wasn't giving adviice, just stating that I had tangs in a smaller tank.
geeeezzz

there is no doubt a 37 gal tank will be suitable for a tang. when fullgrown they might almost be touching the ends of the tank (depending what kind of tang) sure u could get a baby tang, but even as babies they love to swim around the entire tank. they might befine for a small amount of time but eventuallty they will stress out and prob get ich (tangs are ich magnets)

better yet show me a respectable place where it says one is ok in that tank and then i will post the places that say its not and we will then see who can come up with more info??
btw i am not a tank police. i myself keep two tang in a 140 gallon tank. one which we just got that is very large. in some people opinion my tank is to small to house this tang and they might be right. heck i dont even say anything when i see a tang in a 55. but in this case the tank size is just way to small. the alternatives above are somne great choices

The blue fin angel is really not anything like that in person. I have seen several and they are quite ugly. How about a flame, or a coral beauty, or a bicolor, or a lemonpeel, or if you have the money a multicolor, and if you have 750 bucks to blow get an interruptus!!
