DYI In tank Refugium

I have a Tenecor 85 gallon flatback hex with built in filtration. I would like to convert my one bio-ball chamber into a refugium. Anyone know if I can use lexan? It is what my dad has that is somewhat like acrylic. Any other ideas of how to get water to flow through it but style have stuff live mineral mud and live sand would be greatly appeciated.

Lexan is acutally stronger then acrylic and you can use thinner stuff. Only prob with that is that the thinner it is the more bend it'll have and the silicone may give due to too much strain.

Oh and is lexan reef safe and what can I use for glue? I have some really tough coral glue.

Haven't had a prob on mine. I used virgin silicone. 1/2 in? that's sum expensive stuff there. and that really won't flex with the water weight. But make sure that you clean it real good though.
I've also hot glued some stuff together and so far don't seem to have any problems in my tanks. 1 is a FOWLR and the other is a reef.
Maybe it's possible that there wasn't any chemicals on the hot glue but I prob wouldn't try it again.
