I have a 35 gal tank with live rock and sand
emperor wet/dry filter and a protein skimmer.
It has been set up since Christmas with 1 yellow tang, 1 blue damsel, 8 turbo snails, and 6 camel shrimp. Today I found 2 of the shrimp dead (removed them) and 3 are missing (may be in a large shell haven't looked yet). I've had some cyno bacteria which I suction out regularly. started using r/o water for water replacement and changes last week and this is getting better. test done today PH 8.0, salinity 29, ammon 0.1, nitrite 0.4, nitrate 10. Ammon and nitrite are up a little from normal. I feed 2X a day until the fish seem full adding very small amounts
Any help appreciate I have 1 cleaner shrimp,
1 coral banded shrimp, 1 mandarin, 1 star fish and a fan and shaving brush plant coming on friday.

Your water reading are way too high, many of those levels could result if fatalities in a number of your animals.

I think that you are feeding them too much.... once a day is more than enough.... i only feed mine every other day....

ok, am doing a 20% water change. But I think i've found the at least one of the missing shrimp, the damsel has it in her little cave.
will the tang and damsel eat the dead shrimps. how important is it to find the other to and remove them. I know fish if they dye you have to remove asap, but what about inverts?

Renee, read up about the nitrogen cycle and it will help you understand a lot more about your tank.
