Dying Lion Fish

I Have a 90 gal tank and and at the time only had 1 Lionfish in it. The problem I am having is that I had the lionfish on a steady diet of Freeze Dried Shrimp and he was eating well. He then all of a sudden stopped eating for a about a two week period and then started eating again. The problem I am having now is that he is now not eating again and it is going on almost 3 weeks and all he does is sit on the bottom of the tank. It sometimes looks like he can't use his fins on the side to swim. His fins on the side also look like the are just gradually disintergrating little by little. I have done a water change and cleaned the tank but the situation has not changed. If anyone can provide me some assistance on how to remedy this situation I would greatly appreciate it

Can you give us more information like, what is your ph, alkalinity, salinity, temperature? What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? How long have you had the lion? Are you only feeding him the freeze dried shrimp? Are you soaking the food in saltwater vitamins before feeding? What kind of filtration do you have and how often do you do water changes, and how much?

I'd say malnutrition. A lionfish, or any fish for that matter, needs more than freeze dried shimp. Try offering it a piece of fresh strimp and use a a feeder stick to entice him.
