Here's is a new way I learned to install the tank background.I used vegtable oil on the background and then used a credit card to press out the air bubbles.Looks great and can not see any wrinkles or bubbles.Makes the tank look deeper.Used a black background. This advise came from my lfs where he uses it on a daily basis. He has over 600 tanks set up and did this on all of them. Just thought it was something everyone might find interesting

Is this an adhesive background?? If so the oil is not the prefered method of applying vinyl adhesives. I have 15 years experience with striping, and other decals in the automotive and marine fields. And this oil will affect the glue used on this vinyl. A diluted soap solution is the BEST method.NO oils,or silicones should ever come in contact with the adhesive.it could, and usually does have a chemical reactioncausing this adhesive to break down. Speaking from years of personal, and professional experiance.

No this is a non-adhesive background.Kind you buy off the roll.I beleive that Hagen is the manf. same as pen-plax.I would never put oil on a adhesive. I am inthe roofing industry and adhesive do not mix well wtih oil.Serious breakdown will occur.
