I am currently about 2 weeks into my Hypo treatment for my Ich infected fish (only 1 had visible signs but I am doing the treatment to all of em) Anyway, all of the fish look great, and eat very well, although the snowflake eel wont eat. He has always had an unending appitite before but he just isn't interested. I know eels can go a long time without eating but 2 weeks for him seems like enough time before he should be hungry. Any ideas? The fish are all in a 90 gallon quarantine tank so I don't think its an overcrowding thing. The params are Amm=0, Nitrite=0, Nitrate about 60-80ppm. I realize the Nitrate is high but I have done quite a bit of water changes to bring it down.
Couple other questions about hypo. My skimmer (Predator PDFS-2 w/ Mag18 pump) doesn't skim at ALL in the hypo tank. It did a great job in my normal tank. Does the lower salt content effect this?
Also, I would like to keep feeding my tang (blonde naso) caluerpa from my other tank's refugium. Will throwing in caluerpa from my display tank before 4 weeks is up re-infect my quarentine tank due to the plants being exposed to ich and possibly having ich in the water? Thanks for your input!!
