I have a saltwater fish catalog from a very popular online fish site that advertises an Ebo-Jager automatic heater. The quote on the ad states "this heater is not fully submersible"

SCSInet has the background on this has something to do with Jager being sold to another company and not having the correct certifacations to be classified as submersable there is a post about this somewhere on here where he gives all the details. Anyway with his advice I have been running mine submersed for the last month with no issues
