Eclipse Lighting Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my Eclipse 2 lighting with a retrofit kit. The most wattage I can fit into the existing acrylic light cover is 1x36 watts, which isn't really an improvement. If I remove the cover, I think I can get 2x65 watts. My question is, am I going to need an acrylic cover on the new fixture? Has anyone made one of these?

I did 2 13W in a 6G eclipse with no problems...just make sure u put in vents to let the heat out b/c b4 I installed them they tank was getting rather warm....now it says right below 80....good luck with it...
