Eclipse Owners

Is there anybody else who is currently, or has previously run a FOWLR tank? I am a little over a week into this project with the following set up:
37 Gallon Eclipse (replaced one 18W FLO with another that is Actinic)
45 LBS of Live Rock
15 LBS of Aragonite
1 Aquaclear 402 Powerhead
1 200W titanium heater
Would be interested in hearing about protein skimmer experiments...also, anyone that has tried to retro a compact lighting system made by Champion Lighting.

If your doing a FOWLR, you can make it work. Adding a skimmer will certainly be beneficial, it will require some cutting of the Eclipse hood. I started my tank over a year ago with the Eclipse 3 and my tank is a 37gal. I wanted a reef tank and soon relised it was not the setup for me. Mine has been in the garage for 8 months now. I don't say this to discourage you, just to let you know it is tough to make a reef work with an eclipse.
I had checked into the PC retro for the Eclipse from Champion before I decided to quit using it. I think it is a great upgrade for the money.

I have sense moved to a 55.
I added a skimmer and 2 more 20 watt no bulbs to my hood.
I have heard of others who added pc kits to there hoods as well.

Thank you very much for the responses (twoods your tank looks great!). I am seriously considering the CL retro, but am a little concerned about the difficulty of its installations. The one from Champion is supposed to be made for my hood, but you know how that goes. Have you guys heard of anyone actually doing the CL retro thing? Good or bad responses?
