I didn't see a place for newbies to say hi, so I thought I would say hi here.
Hopefully (barring the end of the world or some such excitement) I will be picking up a 210 gallon tank/stand and sump from a member here in NW Washington state this saturday. (at least I'm pretty sure this is the board he mentioned)
I've had fish for years, but always freshwater, including a 300 (African) and 180 gallon (Oscars) cichlid tanks currently.
My intention is to take it painfully slow and start out with a LRNF tank (LOL... live rock no fish). I figure once I blow my budget on building a hood, lights, pumps, replacing the 40 gallon sump w/ an old 120 gallon acryllic tank, heaters, plumbing, and framework for the aquascape (I'm planning on $1500). Im hoping to get sand to seed w/ live sand, and some live rock/base rock and spend time through the rest of this year and in to the next getting enough that I am happy with the framework.
I figure by then I should have a handle on chemistry/ making my RO unit work, and worked out most the bugs that might come up, that I should have a clean up crew in by my birthday.. (march)
Anyway, I look forward to pestering you all with questions, learning from my mistakes, and eventually turning this tank in to a 200 gallon slice of heaven that makes my TV look dull...

Only $1500.00? I'm sorry.
Just kidding, good luck. I'm sure you are aware of the ancient Saltwater proverb. "Buy the good stuff first! Not second, when you're past $1500.00!!"
