So about a month and a half ago I had a "predator" tank, then all my predators had died off, or so I thought, so after that I converted to a reef tank and it has been thriving ever since but in that predator tank I had an eel, snowflake morray, and he disappeared one day, I lifted up all the rocks and checked the tank for him and didnt see him, so I assumed he was dead, but just yesterday I woke up and saw him swimming up at the top of the tank and I thought what the heck, am I dreaming??? so I was wondering if it was safe to keep him in the tank? or should I get rid of him? is he safe for the corals and invertabrates I have in the tank? Thanks!

Safe for corals, not safe for snails and ornamental crustaceans.

Also, be advised that this species often "goes postal" once it reaches about 18" - 20".

Eels will eat anything that fits in it's mouth , also it will be more active at night thats when you should feed him , it will be aggressive if the fish goes near him and eels are escape artist make sure you have lots of rock for him to hide and he will turn less aggressive and in time he will eventually stop trying to escape

Postal means get nasty. As they get bigger they get more "ballsy" they will eat all ur fish if they can get them. Unless there too big. I've seen an eel cut a lion in half to eat it! Generally these are accepted to be able to keep togather. There unpredictable fish. Cool yes ,but not meant for a reef tank unless that's all u want in it. Coral and an eel
