I have a 2ft snowflake and want to try some new food. I am curently feeding shrimp for the seafood dept. and silversides. What is a good food to help this guy bigger? He is about the size of a susan b anthony dollar or just a little bit bigger. I want him thicker thats all, lenth is not a issue. I was thinking clams? Any help would be helpful.

Thicker would be fatter, which in an enclosed system, isnt that good for a Moray. In the wild, they have an endless area to travel, swim, etc. In a closed system, they're stuck with the size of your tank. They dont have the room to work off fatty foods.
If you start feeding fattier foods, it'll just lead to problems down the road, IMO.
Keep up with the shrimp and the clams would also be good. You could also try scallops, crab meat and small pieces of fish. A good, varied diet is the best.

Not that I've seen. Every adult SFE that I've ever seen has been quite thick.

interesting. the sfes that i've seen have been skinnier per length than other morays that i've seen. could be because less educated hobbyists keep snowflakes because they are cheaper.

True...also because they're the most common.
I've seen quite a few adult SFE that have been 36" - 40" long and as thick as a beer bottle.

I used to have one and he was thicker than this one. I dont know why he got as big as he did, Ill just give it time and keep on feeding him. Like I said he loves to eat.
