EEL question

hi
i have not looked to much into eels but am wanting to start a sw tank with possibly one eel and probally no fish. what is the smallest size eel and what is the name. i have a spare 5 gallon but would a small and i mean small eel fit in there?

in other threads i have seen that you have to ccycle the tank. what does this mean (im new to sw tanks)
i am planning to buy anohter tank just for sw but am not going to upgrade for a few months.

5 gallon? Nope, no eels for you buddy. The smallest, commonly available eel is the snowflake eel (SFE) and reaches between 2' and 3', putting them (arguably) in a tank larger than 55 gallons.
