I want to setup a small eel tank next to my bed (scare off ugly girls) and I have a real sturdy homeade night stand that is 21"X30" and has about 4" clearence to the wall. The biggest tank that I have found is 44gal that is about 20X20X? Im curious if anyone knows some oddball tank sizes so I can get the most water possible. Im only planing one snowflake and maybe one dwarf lion. but I would still like at least 40 gal's.
Also what do the norm for light on an eel tank. book's say they need a tank with "daylight reproduced" (10k?) however they are usually active at night. I'm planning a red light so I can see him. but what light should I use for the main light. Just enough to cover keep coralline growth. I dont see the reason for VHO or MH.. But I have yet to find a great resource. Thanks ~DAniel
