Just throwing around some ideas for the future. Yes i am doing a lot of research but i like to get people opinions off of here as well.
What ever we get will be a FOWLR.
We have a 75 gal tank sitting in our back yard and we plan on setting it up in a couple months. We would like to have an Eel, lionfish, and a puffer, is that possible in a 75 gal tank? Is so what species would you reccomend?
We are throwing around the idea of ditching the 75 and going with a 150 gal tank i know we would have a lot more options with the bigger tank And agian we would like to do the eel, lion, and puffer. But if its possible to do it with a 75 and have every one comfortable thats what we would like. if its not possible we will either get different aggressive fish or a bigger tank.
Any suggetions, comments, other reccomendations...Just throwing around ideas and would love to hear some thoughts.

Well I have a V lion / SFE / Stars and stripes puffer in a 135. The lion was in a 75 for some time but I came across a 135 that I could not pass up. I think anything but a dwarf lion would be to big for a 75. If your thinking of upgrading I would just do it now since you will want to soon anyways. This is one addicting hobby!

Dont ditch the 75 instead get the 150 and use the 75 as a sump

Well i would like a lion, puffer, and eel, if possible to house them in a 75 gal.
I have been looking into the lions and the smallest seems to be the Fu Man lion at a max of 5 inches, are these guys easy to care for?

Not sure never kept one. I would not put a lion in a 75 long term unless its a dwarf.. Puffers in a 75.. Again unless it stays small might be cramped. Eel.. well maybe a SFE for some time.. Like I said before get the 150 and like some one said use the 75 for a sump. I mean its gonna get you hooked and you will end up getting a bigger tank any ways! Just take your time and really lookin to what you want. Thats the best thing you can do it will save you a headache.

I am going to try to talk my boyfriend into it. Since he is finished his car/project its my turn to spend money on a project.
There just isnt much you can do with a 75 now is there? Nothing super cool anyways!
Untill then i will start on getting some corals for my 29 nano to keep my cravings at bay.

You can use 75's for lots.. Just not big fish.. I am thinking of making a 75 reef. Larger aggressive fish just need a bit more room then a 75. I had in my 75 to start with when I first put it up was 3 damsels / baby V lion ( i mean baby like 2-3") / Lunare wrasse / sargassim fish / 2 Green spot puffers. Granted they were in there till I got my 135 about 4-5 months later.

Well i REALLY want a clown trigger and a powder blue/nasso tang, kids want dory/hippo tang, boyfriend wants an eel, So pretty much every type of fish we want will outgrow a 75.

The kids also want a puffer and me and the boyfriend like the lions.
Our little 29 has two clowns and i'll be turning it into a reef tank as soon as i get lights.

If you want a clown trigger a lion is a no no.. well So is puffers and lions.. but triggers have been known to snap and kill lions.

Yes i know! It seems like every thing we want to go together cant!
This is why im looking into the fish we want now that way we dont have any issues with the fish. Just want to do whats best for the fish, even if it doesnt look as "cool" as we want it to lol.
Here are my ideas if we get the 150.
option #1 Eel, puffer, lion
Option #2 Clown trigger or huma trigger, nasso tang, hippo tang.
Option #3 a bunch of small comunity fish Dont really want to do that though.
If we are stuck with the 75, could we put two clowns and a hippo tang in it?
Feel free to comment....

humu, puffer, eel, tang? . . maybe a goat for the backyard too

This is a good mix, sans the goat :D Humu, Puffer, SFE, Tang, you could even put in like a Maroon clown or Dwarf Angel with these too and be fine in a 150.
