EELS?

I was at the LFS and saw a small snowflake eel hiding under some coral and thought that it would be a nice addition to my tank. the problem is that i can not find a good web page that talks about keeping eels(my fish books do not talk about them either). Also, most of the post on the BB say that their eels have died. Is that a common thing with eels or just bad luck? does anybody know of a good page for research?

IMO I don't think they are hard to keep alive. I have two one just under two feet, eats like a champ out swimming around all the time never a problem had him for about a year. Have a baby in another tank, same thing with him, had him for about 6 months, bought him when he was about 6 inches now he is a foot. I would recommend them to anyone. I am trying to get a friend of mine to get his own snowflake. Good Luck

snowflakes and zebras i think are the hardiest eels. they dont get to large and look beautiful. make sure it is eating before you purchase one.good luck!

snowflake would be the way to go. however make your tank eel proof, meaning make sure there is no open spaces whatsoever or he will get out. i had one that got out 3 time before, and finally didn't catch him in time and he died. i now have one that i have grow up for 6inches to 19inches. try to feed them uncooked shimp, soaked in Zoe. that's better than like food, otherwise he will stalk all your fish. my snowflake has been through alot and hasn't let me down, even through copper treatments! go snowflake and see what happens.
