Egg Crate - Can you use it for?

I was considering laying egg crate at the bottom of my tank and filling it over with sand. Mainly I hoped it would keep the sand in place for the most part.
What would you think? Maybe a little too stiff and not enough movement?
and using it in a 55 for shelving to frag corals and keep them closer to the lighting. Would fiji and other LR need higher lighting or will PC lighting do?

Egg crate on the bottom of the tank....good idea!! I do it with my tank!! Make sure though to put the egg crate in...then put the rock on top of the egg crate and then add the sand. The egg crate will keep the rock off the bottom glass and it will also help with your sand.
Live rock, no matter if it is Fiji or not, does not need any special lighting. The only time you need special lighting is when you have corals in the tank.

yes. many people do it so falling liverocks wouldnt crack the bottom of the tanks.
