Eheim 2229 rotates between hard and soft flow...normal?

Hi,
My eheim 2229 will shoot out massive water sometimes and then itll start just barely putting out water...i cleaned it out very well and still the same thing...any idea whats up? or is this normal..?

That's how they work. It is a wet/dry filter. It fills up with water, then empties itself over and over. It is normal.

They are continual flow filters. While it's filling up, you should notice very light flow. Once it's full it should come out hard. Watch the filter, and if this is the case it's perfectly normal.
