Hi All, I was wondering what some people pay on electric bills. I want to know if mine is considered high. I run my VHO 11 hours and MH 8 hours. I live in a 1 bedroom Apt. in NY with 2 A/C's. 13,000 in the living room and an 8,000 in the bedroom. I almost run the Living A/C 24/7 :) My bill is $235 a month. How do i compare to the rest of you folks??? Thanks
Martin

 $235.00 I though mine was bad. In the mid of winter my highest bill is around 150. In the summer it's more like 100... No AC here, I run a couple swamp coolers but that's about it.

Well I live in a 2500sqft house with the A/C at 76(Central Air), I run 1 250watt MH with 72watts of PC, and all the misc equipment used to run my tank and supplies, my electric bill is around 184.24 a month. My A/C is brand new so is pretty efficient. I get on the average payment plan though so it is more like $128.00 a month.

Reef: you are extremely lucky. While in New Mexico, we ran swamp coolers and had bills in you range. here in alabama with the humidity about the same as the temp we run heat pumps. Bills have been up to $250/month. 2500 sq foot house.

i have a 180 with 2 250w and 1 175w halide, a 135 with 440 vho that i don't run very often, a 120 gal pirahna tank and 2 50 gal freshwater.
i have a 1800 sq ft house and central air, if i watch everything closely i can keep my bills below 200.00. forgot to mention i have a 24' foot round pool also.
when i don't pay attention my bills get close to 300.00!

Ummmmmm no joke, our electric bill runs us between 2500.00 and 3000.00 a month.....but thats cause we have a farm and this is what it costs us to irrigate crops.....Lucky....cause I will never know how much it costs to run my tanks......(nor will hubby)):p :p

I just gave up a 1 bedroom, 1075 sf apt. with central air and my old 90g. I don't think I "EVER" had a electric bill more than 50 dollars! However I was hardly ever home.
About to get a 1200 sf townhouse condo, and have metal halides on my aquariums now, and about to get a 450g acrylic.... now I"m scared what its going to take to light, skim, and pump that tank along with my others and everything else in the place! Oh well, can't get by on candle light!

I have a 75 gallon with 440W VHO, skimmer, 2 powerheads, 2 cooling fans, and w/d filter. I live in southern Louisiana where the temperature during the day is about 93 degrees (heat index 100+). My A/C is on 24/7 set at about 72 degrees. Last month's bill was $160 which is normal. I haven't seen much of a change in my electric bill since I setup my tank.

I run AC at 76 have two computers on pretty much 24/7 and my tank w/ 96watt PC. In a two bedroom condo our bills are roughly around $109.00 a month... although they did go down this month for some unknown reason.... maybe BGE was giving us an early christmas present
