Electricity usage

The last three months since I've had my new tank running my electric bill has gone waaayyy up. I thought at first it was just the A/C running more from the high temps we were having in August. The last bill I got went down a little (only $415). Any thoughts on how much a reef tank ususally costs to operate? This seems like an increase of about
$ 200 a month.
Equipment:
Dolphin amp master pump 4.5 amps
1500 watts of lighting
G-4 protien skimmer w/sedra 9000
500 w heater
4 6" cooling fans
150 w power compact fuge light
The bills on my old 125 gal tank wern't even noticeable on my bill. What does anyone out there pay per month?

I have a 40 gallon tank with 260 watts of pc lighting with a HOB fuge, 2 other ph's, small heater and mine is only about $100 per month. I'm sure electric rates are different in each area, I could be wrong though. You have a lot of wattage for lighting alone, could be that. What did you have running on your 125?

Well you are running in excess of 2500W per hour just for the fish tank... unless you had the same exact equipment as before it sounds like it should have gone up! Wow, thats a lot of electricity...

I didn't see any mention of lighting on the new tank???? I see the mention of lighting on the fuge. Did your lighting on the main tank change??

I dont know how much you are charged by the KWH or how long u run the tank lights but at.....10 cent per kwh for 2500 watts for 12 hrs a day comes to $ 90 a mth.
