Elegance coral is very difficult to keep and there are probably very few that actually survive in the home aquarium. I know they require very nutrient richwater (in other words, dirty!), which usually is not possible in an aquarium, with keeping other coral and fish. Your nitrates are incredibly high, which from what I have read, the elegance should like, but I dont know if high nitrates equals out to the same thing.....? How are your other coral and fish doing? What kind of lighting and what size tank do you have? I'm not sure there are alot of people on here that have owned this coral, so it may be difficult to get an answer. Sorry to not be more of a help. You may want to try posting this question over on the Reef Tank board.

I've got one under a 150 metal halide light..it does well but it did shrivel down once and then opened back up an hour later and still looks good..they are hard to take care of

The other thing to watch out for is parasitic crabs. They will burrow ino their skin and eat and eventually kill. We have had it happen many times here. My buddy at the lfs did some looking on the ones that died over a few months and bam their were the crabs. They look like ticks.
