Hi everyone i have a 265 reef up and runnung for 4 yrs now i pretty much have a litle of everything in there. Late at night i like taking a flashlight and looking around at night. At night there is a long (and getting bigger) worm like the size of a pencil length and width. This worm only comes out when lights are off, and when I put the flash light on him he draws back into the rock. It looks like an elephant trunk. Is there anyone out there that knows what he is? Thank you.

its grey in color and when u put the light on it it retreats back in the rock Is this one of thoses wrms that eat corals?

I had one that looked like you describe. By the way the rock was formed it looked like the worm had been there while the coral was growing. Either that or he chewed away at the rock. But in any case, he would just come out and sniff around the rocks then disappear again. He came out with tank lights off but room lights on.
