emerald crab and seahorses

I am having a little hair algae problem in my seahorse tank. i scrubbed the rocks, cut the lighting in half and added some phosban in a mesh bag but the algae seems to be quite persistent after several weeks. ive even added a small cleaner shrimp to pick up loose food although my seahorses eat right off the end of my tongs so there isn't too much leftovers.
are emerald crabs seahorse safe? i was under the impression they eat hair algae but what about those delicious seahorses, will they be disturbed?

Crabs are not a prefered tank mate for seahorses, the few suggested are Blueleg Hermit Crab, Scarlet Hermit Crab, Nassarius Snail, and Turbo/Astrea Snail

Get a couple large mexican turbo snails, after about a month your hair algea should be gone.
