Emerald Crab is hiding

I just bought an emerald crab today from my LFS. That #$^#* guy gave me a handicap one. He is missing a leg. I just wonder if my shrimp or the fish will bother him alot. I saw my damsel was checking him out when I first put him in. The damsel just follows him along and the crab just hides under the rocks. Is emerald crab quite shy??

O I am sorry. I said it wrong. He's missing a claw. Will the claw grow back then??? I am afraid that he will get killed by the shrimp since my shrimp is really cruel.

i bought a emerald crab about 2mths ago i havent seen him since i havent found remains or nothing someone told me he could be under the sand and i have no fish that will eat him.

Mine is under some rocks at the front so I can see him hiding. I guess yours probably is doing the same thing.

no i pretty much doubt it because i had some dead coral in there that i took out to put in my live rock i check the dead coral real good but i couldnt find him nowhere i might have to go play in the sand to find him if he still alive lol

I have a Emerald crab and he stays hid in the LR until I drop food. During the night he will get on our Leather Coral. Right now he is hiding in a hole in the LR.
I dont know if he claw will grow back.
I also have a red crab, I never see!
A Porcalian (sp) that I only see filter feeding.

my emerald only comes out at night- as long as he comes out and eats (either during the night or during the day) i wouldn't worry about it. i have read they can grow back a claw, but i do not know if it is true

I don't know if he is coming out at night though. If he comes out at night I wouldn't know anyway. I am probably doing the same thing as my fish which is sleeping. What can I do if he doesn't come out??? Will he starve to death???
