inn the past 4 days i have had two of my fish die. they both had scratches on them and when my 6-line was lying on the bottom an emerald crab attacked him. is it possible that the crab is what scratched them?

most likely no, they probably had ich and were trying to scratch it off, the crab will just eat them if they are dead most likely
what are your water parameters:
ammonia nitrate nitrite PH salinity

My emeralds are VERY docile BUT they do eat meat and dead things! But mine have never killed anything alive to this date!

my emeralds stay away frome just about everything. i saw one missing a claw yesterday. i am guessing he got into it wity my sallylightfoot. also pulled a bangaii cardinal from my sally this morning. the cardinal was fine when i got up and an hour or 2 later he was in the claws of the sally.

That's funny, my emerald has been giving everything hell in my tank lately...he's picked off all of my decorator's "decorations" and went after my sally last night....

I didn't think emeralds would eat corals. I guess I need to make sure they are well fed all the time.

Green star ployps, zoos, and cup coral i have seen both of mine pick at. Didn't start doing it until they got kinda big though.

Dang, one of mine molted last week and now he is really big. I just saw him today at the base of the Green Star Polyp. I couldn't tell if he was picking at it or stuff around it.

I have two emeralds with a sally lightfoot and never have they been aggresive in any way. I too have shrooms and polyps and they don't bother it. Although, one of them loves the big leather. He sometimes spends all day in there.
