Emerald crab the death bringer?

My nano has been running for @4 months with no problems or anything, then last week I get mister green, and I have lost 2 peppermint shrimp since his arival. Could he be killing them or do the they have a short life span or what?
I had 3 peppermint shrimp, a chromis, 3 snails and an emerald crab.
Both times I had a loss i checked water condictions and everything was great. Any ideas?

he shouldnt be eating live shrimp, but if they die he will eat them in a heart beat, i just read another post with someone saing that his was eating his fish, i never see mine move very fast and normally i can reach down and grab them fairly easy as they just stop moveing, one of my tangs was eating something off the back on one of them maybe thought he was alge haha, i have alot of shrimp in my tank, and they all seem to be doing fine so far
