Iv'e had my emerald crab for about 2 weeks now and i've noticed over the last few days he's been slowly turning white. I know that crabs molt, but how often? and is this a sign of molting or poor health?

Mine is doing the same....My Coral Banded Shrimp just molted so I hope for the same. Dosing w/Iodine once a week and trace elements once a week...Anyone got a clue??
mine has done the same thing. I noticed it when I picked up a rock and the crab was under it. I assumed it was because he's not getting enough sun tan.
sparky101- They molt about once a month.
vito525- Dont dose for anything you dont have a test for. Iodine only needs to be added if there isnt enough in your system if you just add it just because it can cause problems.
I the crab actually turning white or are there small dusters sticking too it? Mine is covered with corraline and small dusters. If he would come out I would show a pic!?
