emerald crabs

just got me an anemone a wek ago , he looks great a long tenticle green with purple 21.00 at lfs good deal i thougt any way when eeding him silver sides today he was eating and so was everything else in the tank i saw an emerald crab pulling at him taking the food from in front of his mouth and proceeded to rip off a tenticle and eat it needless to say that crabs gone, do emerald crabs bother anemones ? what about my other crabs , what should i do? any experience this

Sounds like your crab was hungry.
Next time move your crab (if you can) to another spot of the tank...give him his own piece of food...he should stay still while he eats it...mine do anyways.

Strange, I have 4 BTA's in my tank and have had many emerald crabs and never had one do something like that.

They will fight for food, but I don't think they'll specifically develop a taste for anemones...
Mine has been fine and actually thinks he's an acro crab Here he is in some digitata...
