Ok i have a 24 gal aquapod, MY YASHIA Goby and Randalli Pistol shrimp have went missing under a rock in a burrow they dug. I think the orchid dottyback covered them up or something. Because usually when i feed my tank the Goby will come out of the burrow and grab some food but this time it didnt. I also noticed some huge huge bristleworms, Maybe some were 6 inches in length but i know they dont eat live fish so i am not worried about them that much. My QUESTION IS can the shrimp and goby unbury themselves or do i need to move around the rock to get them out ? THANKS IF YOU CAN LET ME KNOW.

So just leave the shrimp and goby under the LR ? I still have yet to see them. And i dont really see any openings under the LR either. Well i will do as you say lion_crazz. Thanks for replying. Anyone else out there have any suggestions ? Thanks

I would only move the rocks around if you plan to also take out the dottyback in the process (as these guys can be really nasty to other tank-mates, especially ones like a shrimp and goby pair).

Well actually the orchid dottyback was in there first so no i probably don't plan on taking him out. It was the 2nd saltwater fish i ever bought. First being yellow tailed damsel which i gave back to lfs. But yeah i am sure the goby and shrimp pair will be ok i hope. I pray tonight that they will be ok. I see a tiny hole opening in the front of the LR. i am sure if they seriously need to get out the shrimp can dig a tunnel out right ? Or the goby can also ? Let me know if they can get out from under the rock or is it over with for em probably ? Thanks if you have more advice. Thanks Lion_CRAZZ.

Yeah well i went ahead and moved the rock. I know i probably did stress them out. Well the shrimp went under another rock and has already built him a new burror seems like and the goby has found a hole in a LR and steady getting bullied by the Orchid Dottyback. I dont think it knows where the pistol shrimp is at. Will they find each other ? I know that i will leave them alone and hopefully it will find the shrimp on its own if it ever comes out of the LR. It seems terrified by the orchid dottyback. Whenever the dottyback comes near it, the goby just opens its mouth real wide.

You may also need to do a water change if you moved the rocks around, check your amonia and nitrates.

Yeah i checked my water params after that , but i only moved one rock and put it back in place how it was. My tests came up fine but i took a sample to LFS yesterday and they said everything is fine except my PH is 7.9 or 8.0 and i been using Seachem Marine Buffer to help that and they said my Nitrates were 5. So they said everything in my water is pretty much perfect :) But the Goby still hasnt found its home with the Pistol shrimp. I am leaving em alone and let them find each other. The Pistol Shrimp has made a new home under another LR. Does anyone know how to feed them ? Thanks if you can help me. I figured they are just scavengers like my other shrimp but i read that they are blind so i dont know if i should just put some food near its burrow or what. Well thanks
