Emergency!!!!

I have a 14 gallon BioCube. Yesterday, the daylight bulbs went out. So I got a new set of compact 14 watt 10,000K Coralife bulbs.
I plugged in the new bulbs, and they didn't work. So I took out the actinics, plugged the daylights in THERE, and the new AND old ones worked. So Im concluding the connection is bad in the one inlet thing.
I've looked through all these wires, and I dont see anything!!! I can't figure out what would go bad. The big ballast/adapter looking thing works, because it is powering the fans. It's just the light that won't work.
PLEASE HELP!!! I have $1000 worth of livestock, including a year-old elegance!!!!

hahahah this is so funny how much people get worried. n e ways do u really think ur corals are gonna die if they dont get a day or 2 or 3 of light? do u really think out of the 365 days out of the year they are all clear and sunny. just calm down nd get the lights when ever you can

i no i mean it would suck but its not the end of the world lol

True that. IMO go to the lighting dept maybe or call an electrician friend/friend with a SW tank for his opinion. Ballast sounds as good a possibility as any.

Mine did that on my bc8...luckily I had just gotten it and my lfs changed out the entire hood for me. It seems to be a problems with the biocubes...might want to check with where you got it from if it's pretty new...or contact the maker and see what they suggest.
