I have a 3 in juvi emporer angel-and its body has some real dull spots for a while now.. is this normal it seems that its brightness is faded.... anyone have any experiance

it's most likely your water quality whether it be ur parameters are off or the tank isn't mature. if not that then it's diet. lots of veggies and sponge for this fish. hikari makes an angel blend.

I agree check your water condition do a water test. Most angels are very delicate fishes. Fyi when your emperor angel becomes an adult it will become dull and lose it's colors that will be normal.

if you put trace minerals in the tank those colors won't fade. even if the fishes colors have faded already it will bring it back

I see that is very interesting. Out in the wild in the ocean they tend to fade as they get older you would think in the ocean has plenty of natural minerals. Very interesting.:thinking:

i've done it. mine went from dull to very colorful again. same with the powder blue.
