bought 7 inch emperor angel eating great except frozen marine angel (contains sponge) tried soaking in garlic extreme eats kent marine carnivore,herbivore pellets and red nori can he survive on this and is there any other foods containing sponges thanks

sounds like a good variety. just be sure to always keep nori sheets in the tank so he stays full. when they get hungry he might start picking at his tank mates. also, you might want to try a batch of some Home made fish food.

Some fish will acquire a taste for different foods over time, so don't worry about the sponge content too much. Sponge is a part of their diet but w/o it, they will do fine on other types of foods. Offer chopped mussell, clam, plankton, things like Emerald Entree, Marine Cuisine, mysis shrimp. Soaking these in supplements like selcon or zoe is a good idea. If you can get it, try Mega Marine Angel Formula by Hikari. Lots of sponge. All the angels I've kept really like it.
