Emperor Filters

Question,
I have heard/read that the more filtration, the better. This is my first SW tank and it has recently cycled for the first time. I currently have an Emperor 400 and my question is....will a secondary Emperor 400 located to the opposite end help or harm my setup?
Specs...
55 Gallon Reef
25# Fiji LR
Emperor 400 Bio-Wheel Filter
Ebo-Jager Heater
Berlin Air-Lift Skimmer
4 Damsels
6 Scarlet Hermit Crabs
4 Blue-Legged Hermit Crabs
I am also thinking of a power-head so any help would be appreciated ;)

I have the same filter with a seaclone skimmer in a 45 high. IT works GREAT. unless you have a problem with toxins, I would leave it. These 400's are good to about 75ga. If you have good circulation in the oppisite side of the tank, you should be fine.

I use 2 Emperor 400s in my 55 and could not be happier with it. In a 4 foot tank like a 55 having two strong filters on each end is great!

If it will leave room for a skimmer, I say go for it. The more circulation the better. If it won't though, I would recommend a skimmer over the second 480. Or you could add a 280 and a skimmer. I run a 280 on my 37gal. with a skimmer and three powerheads. I recently added a DSB, so I removed my bio-wheel and use it for mechanical filtraion only.
