encrusting lps??

A few months back i purchased a frag that i believe to be a favite. The coral is apparently doing well and is growing. I went to move it the other day and the new polyps have overgrown the skeleton and were attached directly to my liverock.
Is this normal? Should i just let it be an let it encrust that rock or move to the sand bed?

Yeah that's normal, how they grow, it's easier to grow onto the rock than build their own skeleton so they will grow faster like that.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I cannot get a picture without ripping it again. I guess I have found the permanent home for this coral
