Ok, Im freaking!!!! I cleaned out the pump chamber and the carbon chamber of my BioCube. Not there! I poked and prodded around in the LR rubble chamber, and he is not there either!!!
Is it possible my elegance swallowed him??? He was small, so Im sure the hermits/emerald/coral banded will eat him if he is sick in the LR, but he was FINE earlier today. He DID have 2 little nips out of his fin, but I figured he just swam into the wrong crab!
Anyone have an Engineer? Do they ever disappear?
HELP!!!

Ok, I had officially given up, assuming the engineer goby was gone forever.
And then I had the top off the tank, and looking from the top down, I see a little black head poking out of the middle of the elegance coral, and guess who is still around? The goby is literally living inside the folds of the elegance blubber! (it actually seems very comfy!).
Thank goodness he is back!

do you have a bigger tank for it when it grows. It will get 8 to 12 inch long and as big around as a quarter.

Hey Teresa,
My LFS (the Hidden Reef) had an engineer goby in a 14gal BioCube for over a year before there was a fire at the shop. He was awesome! He would steadily creep through the LR and poke his head out. He was about 7" long.
I am the type of person who ALWAYS strives to provide luxury for my pets. So when he gets to about 3", I will be making a tank just for him (most likely). I was thinking about a 30 long for him.
Thanks for the concern though. Believe me, I am 10 steps ahead as far as making sure these guys have enough room.

Again, I have not seen the engineer for 4 days. He lives underneath the elegance coral.
What is he doing? I never see him out. Im thinking he is afaraid of something. He has a couple nips in his tail.
Would hermits or a coral banded nip him? Th CB tried to nip my clown the other day. Strange, I picked the smallest CB they had, and he is still very aggressive.

It's more likely to be the CB than any hermits. I had to trade my cb in because he began lunging at my fish. They're pretty agressive.
