I went to the lfs today to pick up some supplies and they had the biggest freakin engineer goby i have ever seen. this thing had to be pushing 18". it wasnt black with the white stipes anymore, but had a pattern much like a tesselata eel. it was really cool looking. i never knew they changed colors when they got older. does anyone have one of these? some guy turned this one in because it killed and ate a gramma and clownfish. has anyone else ever seen one like this? bo

I have two that are in a 55. They started out with the horizonital lines when they were about an inch long. Now they look like you said and about eight inches long. Have not had any problems with them....Although, they have tunnels throughout the tank under the live rock. They are very active.
