I have just aded a engineer goby 2 days ago, He has made himself at home rather quickly, my question is with all the sand he is moving will that have any affect on a ammonia spike? If yes any thing special need to be done.

No, the critter moves so little at a time. It really is the best way to stir up the sand so nothing is trapped in it. I have never had a ammonia spike from sand sifters.

You shouldn't have a problem, but it never hurts to run some extra tests and have some water ready for a w/c just in case.

I hope you realize he will move about every ounce of sand you have to his liking. I hope your rock is sturdy. He will cause it to fall if its not.

Always have rock on the bottom, and sand added after. If you built your rock on the sand you have a problem.
