My 75 gal. been up about 5 weeks now.Have 110 lbs. LS and a little LR.Brown algee was getting a little bad while I let it run its course, so I got a lightfoot to help out.Thinking of getting a package from SWF but would it be to soon?Is there enough for all to eat?Like the package "Market leader #1" for $89.99.Could I leave my lights on longer than 10 hours to encourage more algee growth for them?Afraid if they get a little hungry they might become agressive.
Package has:25turbos,25scarlets,1 band. shrimp,3 peppermint,1 sally,2 serpant,2 brittle,4 emerald, and 1 scallop(which they can keep)

Shouldn't be too much. As long as the ammonia has went down some you should be okay with inverts. What are your reading right now? Hermits shouldn't starve. They will eat food that is on the bottom. I would go ahead and do it.

Agreed. Just make sure that your water parameters are good(ammo-zero and nirite-zero). They will eat detritus and uneaten food. So they will not starve. A good cleanup crew will save you alot of work in the long run. HTH--Bob

Ammonia=0,nitrite=0,nitrate=10(?)
What does your nitrate run?Is this high?Thought it might be because nitrate is the last link in the chain during cycling- - isn't it?

Actually nitrogen gas is the last of the cycle. 10ppm for a nitrate level is not bad at all. Anybody with CC would kill for a nitrate reading like that. LOL What is your phosphate level? This will also add to algae problems. This should be zero(at least 0.1ppm). HTH--Bob

Not sure what phosphates are running.Currently only have a "Saltwater master test kit".Going to get calcium,phosphate,alk.,silicate and iodine tests in near future.

Actually Nitrates are the last nutrient in a normal cycle.
The end of the ammonia cycle is when nitrites are zero, so you can add livestock to the tank.
Nitrate reduction a a seperate issue and needs a DSB or Plenum system to occur.
