enough light for corals?

I'm ready to upgrade the lighting on my 55 to start keeping a few different corals. I'm most interested in keeping different zoos, a torch, and hammerhead. Does this sound sufficient to anyone who knows:
2x 65w coralife 10,000K daylight
2x 65w coralife actinic compact fluorescent lamp
3x 3/4w lunar blue-moon-glow LEDs
Also, I've read somewhere that I shouldn't just add this new lighting to the tank as it will shock the fish. What should I use as a screen to darken the light for a week or so before going full blast?
My future corals and I thank you in advance!!

That lighting should be fine for the corals you mentioned. Just cut back on light time for a week or so to let the inhabitants adjust. :D

I had the same lighting on my old 55 and you'd be suprised what you can put under that light. No problem for those corals but as said ct doen on lghting for a little while. Shouldn't really effect the fish though.

i have the same light except in 48" and without the led light
and i have mushrooms, tons of zoos, colt coral, flower pot, finger leather, toadstool, frogspawn, and a purple anemome
and they are all doing amazing as they have all atleast 2x their size since I have had them, which is about 6 months.
in fact the flower pot is about 4x larger than when I bought him and is taking up a ton of space.
also the colt coral is about 4 times as large- that is a painhh though.
my tank size is 48x24hx18

bergamer - Mine would be 48" as well (standard 55). Is yours made by CoraLife? If so, any issues or problems with it? If you don't mind me asking, do you remember what you paid? I found it for $270 after shipping.
anyone . . . Are there any clams that could be kept under this lighting or no?
Thanks again!!

Here's a pic of my old 55 with that light to give you an idea of what I kept. I tried a maxima and crocea I had both over 2 months and they died at the same time. (you can see one on the bottom left of the pic) I believe they died because my water quality went down at that time. I wouldn't try it with a very expensive color and it may lose brightness unser those lights if it does live.

If they wouldn't be healthy I wouldn't want to keep them.
Thanks for the input and pic. Beatiful tank!

Just a hint - check out a thread about DIY moonlights. It's a biggy, I think about 4 pages or so. Depending on the price of the moonlight, you could save yourself a good bit :)

pyro - I apprecaite the suggestion, but the light I'm looking at comes pre-assembled. The moonlights, which I don't even necessarily want/need, are already installed. Again, I do appreciate the help!

mine is a 90 gallon tank
and yes, mine is the coralife 4x 65watt 10k bulbs
2 blue and 2 white
but unlike yours, mine does not have the lcd lights
although It does have 2 power cords and on and off switches
and the price is significantly cheaper, as i picked
mine up for $150
and it is awsome- no complaints or problems
although i was told and i believe that you cant keep colored clams.
at 24in in height, anything that requires a lot of light i have to put on rocks.
but I have had an anename for 6 months and it is doing great
but when I placed my colt coral in my live sand, it did not look too healthy.
although just placing it 4 inches in the rock and its doing awsome

mbrands,
Thats the exact light I have on my 55. So far it is awesome. My Frogspawn, Brain, and Zoos are all flourishing. It has 4 moonlights on mine, the box was wrong.

you can find it everywhere for that price, especially since the new version with the LCD lights have come out and they decided to double the price
I dont recall where I bought them, but I found them online
just do a couple searches
