I went to my local fish store a couple weeks ago and I got a 24 gallon cardiff aquarium system with a pendent light and black stand. the light came with a bulb that they said would be fine for growing corals, here is the light just read the description for the type of bulb:

They will most likely delete your link....it is enough light for mushrooms and some soft corals such as kenya tree, medusa coral and leathers. It's a good looking setup, and soft corals are nice in a tank that size.

SO... no.. you could try some zoa's if they are fed well,, but I still dont know if that light would be bright enough

Ok I will keep my eyes peeled for a nice T5 setup, also are the blue actinic lights the lights that make some colors on the coral glow?

does the pendant have regular bulb sockets? it says it takes 2 cfl's ... so what you may think about is getting some par 38 bulbs to replace them with?? (if they are facing down that is..) cheaper than getting a new fixture...

No I am almost positive that it's not the normal bulb socket, I think it has those prongs but I am not sure.

So for frogspawn, zoanthids and Xenia would it work or no?
For your list....absolutely no. Xenia is light hungry, not as much as a clam or anemone but real close. T5s will work, or a nice Metal Halide pendant...a nice 150w MH pendant will run about $250.00 .....the problem with MHs are the heat they emit...in a small tank that can get hot fast....fans help. T5s run cool and won't give off that heat.

Linkable T5 HO ...2 units will give you enough light. that would give you two actinic, and two 10K bulbs...That is enough for just about anything you want. That way if you do decide on a an anemone or clam...add another unit. Each unit is $99.00 for your size tank, so upgrade won't break the bank. That's the route I took.
The blue actinic along with the white 10K will help your corals grow as well as a good coral food....be careful to not overfeed, what corals like to feed on also feeds the algae.

I am looking at a light that has a 150 watt metal halide with 2 blue actinic lights, cooling fans, and 2 blue moon LEDs. Would that work?

This is the light I lurches for $100! Its 150 watt metal halide light, 2 t5 actinic blue lights, 2 LEDs, cooling fans, and individual switches for each.
