I am woundering if i was to buy the Nova Extreme Pro 48" 6x54w T5HO fixture for my 75 would this be enough lighting. I would like to keep clams (what kind can I keep?), alot of soft corals, and maybe if I can have some hard corals to what kind?
Thanks.

i don't see why not! just keep the clam up high depending what kind of clams maxima and crocea needs alot of light, derasa ,squamosa and gigas not so much
but if you can get a combo t5 with metal halide it will be better. IMO

U can have just about anything u'd like if placed correctly. One thing I would suggest is to swap out the stock bulbs for better brands like uvl, ati and/or geisemann. Par on current use bulbs suck.

You should be able to keep anything you want in a 75 with that lighting. Agree with the other poster that you should get better bulbs in there though.

Yes most anything will be OK. I have it on my 72 bow.... And yes the stock bulbs do leave something to be desired....A very white look to the stock bulbs........
I ran the stock bulbs for about 6 months or so then switched out 2 bulbs at a time over a period of time.. It is about the best you can do for the price...........

Depends on wat yr after. Growth, color, or maybe a little of both. Good thing is that u have tons of options.

Would it make any difference (besides the moonlights) if I was to buy the Nova Extreme Pro 8x54w instead of the 6x54w over my 75.
thanks

i don't know too much about lighting to give you an anwer, but i can tell you what i have, what i've been told, and what my thoughts are. i have a sun system tek light fixture and it is only 4x54w t5's and i've been told i should be able to keep just about anything i wanted. so i would assume that 6x54 is even better, and then i would wonder if 8x54 was just overkill.

The 8 bulb would be a lot of light, maybe not too much but that is a lot of light on a 75......one of the listings when looking at it ( it is newer than one I am familiar with) said the fish would need sunglasses..
